Arc’teryx Alpha SV Jacket Men’s – Review

I’ve heard lots of good things about Arc’teryx jackets over the last year or two. This brand has really gained lots of popularity in recent years. Two of my friends have jackets from this brand and I’ve seen them in action. Those Arc’teryx ski jackets look really, really good!

While it is true that Arc’teryx jackets aren’t exactly the cheapest around, their quality is hard to beat. One of my friends let me wear his jacket for a few minutes because he wanted to (and I quote) “share the experience with me”.

He’s a funny guy, that friend of mine. But I must say that Arc’teryx really delivers on its promise. Once you’ve worn a a jacket from this brand, it’s easy to see how this company built up its extremely impressive reputation.

It’s good to see that great quality still exists. With the famed Gore-Tex material, you simply can’t go wrong. This jacket is guaranteed to be water proof while also having great breathability.

For core venting, there are underarm zipper. You can open those up just in case you feel yourself overheating. Not that this is going to happen a lot, because the Alpha SV jacket doesn’t really make you break a sweat at all.

The seams are taped to make sure water and wind stay out. Naturally, it also has a hood. It wouldn’t be suitable for skiing if it didn’t. This jacket is recommended for ‘severe weather’, so it will surely be able to withstand a few snow flakes from above and ofcourse the occasional fall-in-the-snow.

I’m taking this jacket with me to the Alps soon, where I will take my very first skiing and snowboarding lessons. I’m going to have a lot of fun and judging by this jacket’s performance, I’ll be warm all the way to-and-fro the ski hut.

And I’ll also be looking good doing it!
