Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Men’s Ski Jacket – Review

Last winter, I was walking around outside in the snow and the temperatures were pretty low where I live. I could feel the cold wind creep up on me with every step I took. It wasn’t so bad when I had the wind in my back. But when I turned a corner and I had wind coming in from the front… that’s when things started to get chilly for me. I got a little sick and tired of that so I decided to get myself a new jacket for the winter. I was planning a ski trip at the time so I needed to get one anyway. Might as well make a well decided purchase a long time before actually taking the trip!

The jacket you see in the picture above, is the Sub Zero men’s jacket from a company called Mountain Hardwear. As the name might suggest, this jacket is actually not meant for skiing, but more for mountaineering. According to its specifications, it’s not water proof. So I doubted as to whether I should get this jacket for the purpose of skiing. But then again, most skiing takes place in the mountains, and that’s what this jacket is for. The sales lady at the store told me that it was pretty good at keeping water out. I tried it on and it was a very comfortable fit.

I decided to purchase this Sub Zero Down jacket and I’m not sorry I did. It’s kept me warm pretty successfully so far. It’s got lots of pockets in case you want to use it for hiking, backpacking, general walking-in-the-wilderness and such things. Now that I have a jacket to do just that, I just might give backpacking a try some time! I imagine those sort of outings can actually be a great deal of fun, just so long as I’ve got a jacket that will keep me warm. And that’s exactly what this Sub Zero jacket does!
