Taiga Mont Blanc Extreme 800 Men’s Lightweight Warm Goose Down Jacket – Review

In my lifetime, I’ve owned quite a number of ski jackets that have kept me warm throughout the colder seasons. I’ve never owned a down jacket, however. I was afraid they might restrict me too much in my movement so I always went with lightweight jackets. This is the first goose down jacket that I’ve ever owned. The one thing that I have noticed, is that this jacket keeps me warm. Really warm. Incredibly warm even!

It’s Canadian made. So I guess, in retrospect, the extreme warmth was to be expected!

Despite the fact that it is a down jacket, it is still very light. It certainly doesn’t weight more than 2lbs. Most down jackets that I’ve checked out while walking around in stores, is that all of them were pretty much heavyweight jackets. This jacket is lightweight but it still gives me the warmth that you would normally only get from a heavyweight.

I never knew light jackets such as this could provide me with so much warmth! I’m truly impressed. I guess I got what I paid for. The jacket is expensive, but definitely worth the money. As soon as I put it on, I noticed the material was high quality stuff.

The hood is very large but it fits around my head nicely when I pull on the cords. The hood can also come off, so if there ever comes a time that I don’t want to carry it around anymore, I can simply detach it. Furthermore, there are lots of pockets.

I don’t really have much more to say about this jacket, other than to get it if you are planning on going places where the extreme cold can easily get to you without any proper protection!
